Two portraIts
It took a long time to realize this but I did these two drawings because I missed my friends. Its’ funny because we talk everyday but during the pandemic, we didn’t se each other at all. So it was 2 years between times we got to see each other in person. So, one night in December, we decided to meet up. It was amazing. Like one of those days where you finally get that refill of friend love and it’s exactly what you need every once in a while.
Of course I had to take photos, but individual photos specifically so that I could do a few drawings. Fun fact, Charity, the one on the right, I think I drew her head wrong but I really love the drawing. She told me but, I just love it. I think it’s the expression coming through in her eyes. I’m not changing it but when I draw or paint her again in the future, I will make sure her head is the right shape.
Here’s a video of the drawing of Charity that I created. It goes in depth on my thought process as I created her portrait. I still need to do the one of Christina so look out for that video.

The vibrancy of color this spring was born from an unusually rainy season in California. As the sun made its grand return, the parks burst into a symphony of lively greens and tranquil blues. The transition of color pulled me in over and over again.
