Plein air painting to evolve my style
Painting outside has always been the scariest thing. The frightening thing was always about what someone else would do. Tell me to leave, criticize the art or something else that ends in my feelings being hurt.
I am a realist painter that loves loose abstract marks. I’m always trying something new so that I can achieve “looseness” in realistic drawing and painting.
The hardest part about painting outside is getting out of the car, setting up and picking ip the paint brush. Lol, i am not an outdoor person. I LOVE being in the house.
Here’s what helped
Pack your bag the night before.
Bring snacks.
Know where the bathrooms are, just in case.
Give yourself time, 90 min.
Commit to consistency. The more you go out to paint, the easier it will become.
